
We have used 3rd party service for our GE 1.5t SIgna Horizon LX for 8+ years now at Companion MRI.
We have switched a few times over the years and my biggest piece of advice is: Do your homework and know exactly what you are getting in your plan and definitely get it in writing before you commit to ANY service contract.
MRI service contracts are not cheap, nothing about MRI is. Your MRI machine is only as good as your service contract. You have to be confident that the engineers are relatively close by for any service and for preventative maintanence. If you are getting a your service with cryogens included you need to get it in writing!
We learned these things the hard and expensive way! We are now with a fantastic service provider for several years now that I would highly recommend to anyone.
